Zika virus in Indonesia

According to the Indonesian government, there have been no cases of Zika virus in 2016.
However, the Indonesian media reported that the first case of Zika virus in Indonesia was confirmed on February 1, 2016. On 15 February 2016, Indonesian Ambassador in South Korea John A. Prasetio said Indonesia is safe from Zika virus. The Ambassador said that based on the information received from the Indonesian Ministry of Health, there has been no case of Zika virus throughout this year. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention also excludes Indonesia from the list of countries where Zika is active. The Eijkman Institute for Molecular Biology and the Research Center of the Indonesian Ministry of Health had reaffirmed the absence of cases involving the Zika virus in 2016.
